(HALIBURTON, ON) – Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three males in relation to a number of break-ins.
Between January 20 and February 11, 2016 the OPP received reports of break and enters throughout Minden Hills Township. A total of 6 residential garages, 2 businesses and 2 vehicles were broken into where the suspects stole chainsaws, power tools, and currency. During the course of the investigation, police determined that the break-ins appeared to have been committed by the same suspects.
A search warrant was executed on February 12, 2016 and police recovered some of the stolen items.
As a result of this investigation, 24 year old Donald THRASHER from Minden has been charged with:
· Break, Enter a place to commit indictable offence section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
· Possession of Property obtained by crime-under $5,000 section 354(1)(a) CC (3 counts)
· Mischief under $5,000 section 430(4) CC
28 year old Joshua WARBURTON of Minden has been charged with:
· Break, Enter a place and commit an indictable offence section 348(1)(a) CC (3 counts)
· Possession of property obtained by crime-under $5,000 section 3549(1)(a) CC (3 counts)
· Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5,000 section 355(a) CC
59 year old Derek WARBURTON of Minden has been charged with:
· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 section 354(1)(a) CC
All three males are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on April 6, 2016.
