( SCHREMBRI TOWNSHIP, ON) – At approximately 4:15 pm on February 20, 2016 Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a head on motorized snow vehicle collision on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) “D” Trail north of Searchmont.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene. Sault Search and Rescue (SSAR), Searchmont Fire and Rescue, the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) and Sault Ambulance assisted due to the remoteness of the collision.
Both drivers, one 59 year old male from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and a 45 year old male from Michigan succumb to their injuries at the scene.
No names are being released pending notification to next-of-kin.
The investigation is continuing.
