Shotgun Stolen During Break And Enter – BREAU Arrested

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – As a result of a break-in that occurred in September 2015, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a male.

On September 14, 2016, Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a residence in Gads Hill where the home owners discovered a break-in to their garage. Numerous items were removed from the garage including a shot gun. The approximate value of the stolen property was $1000.

Investigation into the break-in by the investigating officers, the Perth County Crime Unit and the OPP West Region Forensic Identification Unit, resulted in the identification of a suspect.

Perth County OPP issued a warrant for the arrest of the suspect and during the early hours on Thursday March 31, 2016, the suspect was arrested by Waterloo Regional Police in New Hamburg.

27-year-old Joshua Daniel BREAU of Guelph has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

Theft under $5000

He is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 18, 2016, where he will have to answer to the charges.
