(North Dundas) On April 6, 2016 at approximately 5:41pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on County Road 16, North Dundas Township (just south of County Road 3).
Preliminary investigation indicates that an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), driven by a 42-year-old male from North Dundas Township was northbound when, for reasons under investigation, collided with a southbound tractor-trailer unit, driven by a 39-year-old male from Ottawa. The ATV operator was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. The other driver was not injured.
SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue the investigation. A section of County Road 16 between County Road 3 and Sandy Row Road remains closed to traffic with indicated detours in place.
