(PEMBROKE, ON) – On April 18, 2016 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of an Amber Alert activation from York Regional Police Service. A child was abducted from her home in Aurora, ON.
Earlier this morning, officers received information that the suspect vehicle was observed at high speeds, driving aggressively. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the Bancroft area but the driver did not stop. The officer discontinued his attempt to stop the vehicle.
Members of the public called police to report an aggressive driver in other areas.
The suspect vehicle was located on Highway 41, south of Pembroke. It had been involved in a single vehicle collision.
The male driver was apprehended at the scene and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The child, a passenger in the vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
