(CALEDON, ON) – On Saturday, April 16, 2016 an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on Mount Hope Road north of Columbia Way when he observed 2 motorcyclists travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer determined the speed of both motorcycles to be 115 km/hr. in a posted 60 km/hr. zone. Both motorcycles were subsequently stopped by police.
As a result, Ian PRESTON, 19, of Bolton was charged with: Race a Motor Vehicle and Drive a Motor Vehicle with No Currently Validated Permit. Further, Thomas Byran Richard MORRITT, 19, of Bolton was charged with: Race a Motor Vehicle and Drive Motor Vehicle, No Validation on Plate.
Both motorcycles were impounded for seven days and each male lost their driver’s licence for a period of 7 days as a result of the stunt driving charge. The violators are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Caledon on June 13, 2016.
