(HALIBURTON, ON) On Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 1:25 pm officers from the Haliburton Highlands OPP were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Hwy 118 near Fader Drive in Algonquin Highlands Township. The vehicle had burst into flames after the collision.
The male lone occupant was pulled from the vehicle by persons who had stopped at the scene including an off-duty OPP officer. The male was transported to local hospital for with serious but non-life threatening injuries and then was airlifted to Toronto area hospital for further treatment.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged 30 year-old Matthew PERNEROWSKI of Oshawa with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle CC 253(1)(a) and Drive Motor Vehicle with more than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood CC 253(1).
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on July 6, 2016.
