(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Carling Fire Department, Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and Canadian Coast Guard searched Georgian Bay near Hailstone Island for a missing boater on April 24 2016. The efforts to find the missing male came to a conclusion when the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit located the male under water near where the boat capsized.
Nicholas MILONAS, 22 years of age from Richmond Hill, was found deceased. A post mortem will occur at the Centre of Forensic Science in Toronto.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that no occupant of the boat was wearing a life jacket. The investigation is ongoing.

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On April 24 2016 three males from Richmond Hill were boating on Georgian Bay near Hailstone Island. At approximately 4:19 a.m. their boat encountered unknown issues causing the occupants to enter the water. The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Carling Fire Department, Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) and Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene. Two males were able to swim to shore and were transported by EMS to hospital. One male is still reported as missing.
The OPP, Carling Fire Department and JRCC are continuing to search for the missing male.
