More Impaired Drivers Busted

MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On April 23, 2016, at 1:23 a.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was parked on Highway 124 in the Township of McKellar. A vehicle was seen travelling east bound at a high rate of speed. Police initiated a traffic stop and the officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Bradley GRATKOWSKI, 44 years of age from Burlington, was arrested and charged with Driving with more than the 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 5, 2016 to answer to his charges. His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for seven days

MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On April 24, 2016, members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) at the corner of William Street and Cascade Street in Parry Sound. A few minutes after midnight, police approached a pick-up truck and determined the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Shane FISHER, 30 years of age from Parry Sound, was arrested and charged for Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 5, 2016 to answer to his charges. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On April 24, 2016, at 2:33 a.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle with one headlight on Miller Street in Parry Sound, the male driver was seen swerving and crossing the centre line. Police initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle came to a stop, upon the sidewalk. The officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Jonathon RYELAND, 37 years of age from Parry Sound, was arrested and charged with:

Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

Fail or Refuse to provide Breath Sample contrary to section 254(3) of the CC.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 19, 2016 to answer to his charges. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The OPP are reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
