(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Haldimand Road 17, Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Friday, July 15, 2016 at approximately 5:09 p.m., OPP investigated a collision between a pickup truck and police cruiser.
Through the course of investigation, it has been determined that the driver of a pickup truck stopped on the side of the roadway when a police vehicle stopped behind it with the emergency equipment activated. The driver of the truck reversed making contact with the front of the vehicle.
No injuries were sustained as a result of this incident.
As a result of investigation, police have charged 61-year-old Roland ELCHESYN of Haldimand County, Ontario with start from stop- not in safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He was subsequently issued a Provincial Offences Notice.
