(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On July 22, 2016, at approximately 11:18 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a lawn tractor being operated northbound on the sidewalk along Parkhill Main Street.
Officers determined that the male driver of the motor vehicle had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the police investigation, 49-year-old Jeffrey PATON, from North Middlesex, Ontario, is charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on August 17, 2016.
