(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Saturday July 23, 2016, shortly after 2 p.m. a motorists driving eastbound on Perth Line 20 near Fullarton was following a vehicle that was swerving in its lane. The description of the vehicle was dispatched to Perth County Ontario Police (OPP) officers who were able to stop the Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The male driver of the truck was spoken to and he was administered a field sobriety test. As a result of this test, the male was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville, where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
51-year-old Andrew Grant SIM of Grande Prairie Alberta has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol).
Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.
He is scheduled to appear at the Stratford Court of Justice on Monday August 08, 2016, to answer to these charges. He was issued an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
