Female Taken To Hospital Under Mental Health Act

(GREY COUNTY, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) encourage citizens suffering from various mental health issues to seek help. This statement comes after Grey County OPP was asked to check on the well-being of a female who had threatened suicide over Facebook on July 23, 2016.

Police attended the woman’s residence where they found her harming herself using a kitchen knife. No one else was present inside the residence at the time. The woman was apprehended under the Mental Health Act (MHA) and transported to hospital where she was treated for her injuries, both physical and mental.

Mental Health focuses on mental health and well-being, and Grey County OPP encourage people from all walks of life to learn, talk, reflect and engage others on issues related to mental health and mental illness.
