(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to 285 calls for service this past week.
Domestic Disputes/Assaults
During the past week officers from the Renfrew OPP investigated 10 domestic disputes, 2 family disputes and 3 assaults in which no charges were laid. On the 29th of July 2016, police were called to investigate a disturbance in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, David Mosco(59) of Renfrew was charged with uttering threats and released on a Promise to Appear in Renfrew Court on the 7th of September 2016.
Break and Enters/Thefts
Police investigated 5 break and enters and 16 thefts. Between the 28th of July and the 29th of July 2016, there was a break and enter at the Kenwood Center where two laptops were stolen and a break and enter at the East Side Mario’s Restaurant in Arnprior. A safe with cash was stolen. No arrests have been made. Police also investigated 11 mischiefs in the past week.
Police investigated a mischief at the Mat-e-Way arena on the 27th of July 2016, four youths were inside the facility and one youth let off a fire extinguisher, the youths were apprehended by police. One youth has been charged with Mischief Under and was released on a Promise to Appear.
Drug and Alcohol Offences
On the 28th of July 2016, police were dispatched to a disturbance at Robert Simpson Beach Park, police conducted a vehicle check at this location and a female Tiffany Wilkes(20) of Arnprior was arrested for possession of a schedule II substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. She was released on a Promise to Appear in court on the 7th of September 2016.
On the 1st of August 2016, police were called to a disturbance on New Street in Renfrew. Police attended the scene and as a result arrested a male James Fish (47) of Renfrew for being intoxicated in a public place. Fish was charged under the Liquor Licence Act for being intoxicated in public and the Tobacco Tax Act for possession of unmarked fine cut tobacco.
