(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 34-year-old male after police stopped a vehicle at a Cedar Drive, Turkey Point, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at approximately 8:08 p.m., an officer was northbound on Turkey Point Road, operating an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) vehicle, which detects licence plates in poor standing.
As the officer was travelling northbound, the ALPR vehicle alerted the officer to a licence plate on a vehicle travelling southbound on Turkey Point Road. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and investigated.
As a result, police have charged 34-year-old Jesse Matthew KANCER of Haldimand County, Ontario with care or control over 80mgs, drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit, fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle and driver fail to surrender licence.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
