Christian MACDONALD – Smash And Grab From Vehicle

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On August 6, 2016, members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified that a purse was stolen from a vehicle at the Lookout Tower parking lot on George Street in Parry Sound. Police determined that the suspect(s) smashed a window and took the purse.

During the investigation police directed the owner to call and cancel their credit cards. The credit card company provided a location where the suspect(s) used one of the cards.

Police located and arrested Christian MACDONALD, 35 years of age from Moser River, Nova Scotia for:

· Mischief under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)

· Theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle contrary to the CC

· Use of credit card contrary to the CC (two counts)

· Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the CC (two counts)

Police located and arrested Clarissa SYLLIBOY, 25 years of age from Truro, Nova Scotia for Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the CC.

Both accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on September 29, 2016 to answer to their charges.

Police believe the couple were travelling across Canada and stealing to fund their travel. Anyone with similar thefts are asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or 705-746-4225.
