(HEARST, ON) – On August 31, 2016 the James Bay Detachments Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of an incident where a child was approached by an unknown male while walking home from school.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the youth was asked to enter a dark coloured pickup truck by a male passenger. The male was described as having dark skin and spoke English.
The OPP encourages parents to talk to their children about strangers, being aware of their surroundings and creating safety plans.
