During the week of the 29 August 2016, to the 4 September 2016, there were 112 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were nine motor vehicle collisions, five were animal related.
There were five domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 29 August 2016, to the 4 September 2016. There were two domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.
Assault / Forcible Confinement / Weapons Charges
On the 31 August 2016 at approximately 12:20 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jeff Turnbull and Constable Neil Gonzalez received a domestic disturbance call for service on Old Barry’s Bay Road, Madawaska Valley Twp. Subsequent to police investigation, a 24 yr. old male from Madawaska Valley Twp. has been charged with, Assault x 3 section 266, Forcible Confinement section 279(2), and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,x 4 section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held pending a bail hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Utter Threats and Mischief Charges
On the 01 September 2016 at approximately 10:05 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Neil Gonzalez received a domestic dispute call for service on Grist Mill Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. Subsequent to police investigation, a 26 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. has been charged with Utter Threats, section 264.1(1)(a), and Domestic Mischief, section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with conditions, with a court date, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Collisions
On the 31 August 2016, at approximately 5: 39 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable John Anderson, Constable Devin Leeworthy and Constable Jeff Turnbull received a call of a single vehicle collision involving an ATV, on Wolf Lake Road, in Madawaska Valley Twp. A 37 yr. old male had rolled an ATV, and had sustained serious injuries. The male was transported by Renfrew County Ambulance to the hospital. The ATV was towed from the scene. This incident remains under investigation.
On the 01 September 2016, at approximately 2: 07 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy received a call of a two vehicle collision involving injury on Kokomis Inamo, Pikwakanagan Ontario First Nation. One male was treated for minor injuries by Renfrew County Ambulance at the scene and released. This incident remains under investigation.
Break and Enter
On the 29 August 2016 at approximately 6:47 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Barry Nisbet received a break and enter call for service on Scotch Bush Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. Entry had been gained into a cabin and numerous items stolen. The OPP Identification Unit was contacted to attend to process the scene. This incident remains under investigation.
On the 02 September 2016 at approximately 11:22 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch received a break and enter call for service on Drizzle Lake, South Algonquin Twp. The suspects entered a cottage, ransacking the interior. A canoe, boat, and sleeping bags were stolen. This incident remains under investigation.
Suspended Driver Charged
On the 30 August 2016 at approximately 7:38 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Barry Nisbet stopped a motorist for speeding on Twin Maple Lane, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. The 54 yr. old male driver was charged with Suspended Driving section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was towed. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court.
