(WASAGA BEACH, ON.) – On September 17th, 2016 at approximately 11:15 p.m., a member of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle travelling on Mosley Street at what appeared to be in excess of the poster speed limit. The speed of this motor vehicle was measured and it was discovered it was travelling at a speed of 92Km/h in a posted 50Km/h zone. This vehicle was stopped at a business in the area of Mosley Street and Sunnidale Road South and Police quickly determined that the driver of this motor vehicle was operating it while under the influence of alcohol. A further Police Check of this driver revealed that his current Drivers’ Licence restricts driving a motor vehicle with above zero levels of alcohol.
Charged with “Exceed 80mgs.” is David SIMPSON 20 years old from Mississauga, Ontario. Police have further charged the accused with “Speeding” and “Novice Driver B.A.C. Above Zero” both under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. First appearance is October 10th, 2016 in Collingwood court.
