Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 3 October 2016, to the 10 October 2016, there were 124 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were sixteen motor vehicle collisions, three were animal related.

There were five domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 3 October 2016, to the 10 October 2016. There were no domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.

Collisions

On the 8 October 2016 at approximately 12:15 pm., Killaloe OPP Constable Jeff Turnbull received a call of a two vehicle collision on Highway #60 and Otter Lake Lane, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 25 yr. old Tong WANG of Richmond Hill has been charged with Fail to Yield From Driveway, section 139(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a provincial offence act notice. There were no reported injuries.

On the 9 October 2016 at approximately 3:06 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jordan Bullis received a call of a single motor vehicle collision on Ruby Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 65 yr. old Thomas ROBINSON of Killaloe has been charged with Careless Driving section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a provincial offence act notice. The vehicle was towed. There were no reported injuries.

On the 8 October 2016 at approximately 6:02 p.m., Whitney OPP Constable Ryan Szczygiel received a call of a single vehicle collision on Highway # 60 in Algonquin Park. As a result of police investigation, 44 yr. old San YU of Brampton was charged with Careless Driving section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a provincial offence act notice. There were no reported injuries.

On the 8 October 2016 at approximately 10:46 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jordan Bullis received a call of a two vehicle collision on Bonnechere St W., Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 54 yr. old Ronald RESMER of Bonnechere Valley Twp. has been charged with Turn Not in Safety section 142(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a provincial offence act notice. The vehicles were towed from the scene. There were no reported injuries.

On the 8 October 2016 at approximately 7: 36 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jordan Bullis received a call of a single vehicle collision on Foymount Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The female driver was taken to the hospital by Renfrew County Ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed, no charges were laid.

On the 5 October 2016 at approximately 7: 48 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Brandon Cassibo received a call of a single vehicle collision on Sand Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result police investigation, 68 yr. old Frans VANMASSENHOVEN of Bonnechere Valley Twp. has been charged with Careless Driving section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a provincial offence act notice. The driver was taken to the hospital by Renfrew County Ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed.

Mischief

On the 6 October 2016 at approximately 8:00 a.m., Killaloe OPP received a call of mischief to vehicle, on Jane Street in Bonnechere Valley Twp. Someone attempted to gain entry into a vehicle, causing damage. Killaloe OPP is reminding the community to lock vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.

Operation Impact Traffic Results

Killaloe OPP Operation Impact Long Weekend Traffic results show that locally 40 Speeding charges were laid, 7 seatbelt charges were laid, 12 moving violation charges were laid and 1 warn range alcohol suspension was laid.
