(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is investigating a suspicious fire that occurred at a Concession Road 13, Townsend, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Friday November 11, 2016 at approximately 3:38 p.m., OPP and Haldimand County Fire Services responded to Concession Road 13 for a structure fire where it was reported that the residence was fully engulfed.
OPP investigation, thus far, has determined that a passerby contacted 911 when he observed smoke coming from the roof of the residence. The residence was vacant at the time and strong winds caused the fire to spread throughout very quickly.
OPP continue to investigate.
The estimated cost of the damage is $300,000.00.
