(GUELPH-ERAMOSATOWNSHIP, ON) – On November 13, 2016 at approximately 5:58 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor collision on Wellington Road 26 near the Guelph-Eramosa – Garafraxa Townline.
Officers arrived at the scene and while speaking with the male driver an odour of alcohol was detected on his breath and obvious signs of possible impairment were also noted. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and taken to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
56-year-old Ian MACRAE of New Tecumseth has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on December 2, 2016 to answer to the charges.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
