(KENORA, ON) Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime and Enforcement Bureau-Kenora Drug Unit (OCEB), with assistance of members of the Kenora OPP, the Kenora Street Crime Unit, the OPP Canine Unit, and the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), have charged six people with drug related charges following an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the City of Kenora.
On Monday, December 5, 2016 shortly before 7:00 pm, as a result of an ongoing investigation, police executed a search warrant on a residence in the East end of the City of Kenora. Three men and a woman were arrested and searched at the scene. Upon searching the residence and subjects, police located over 2 kg of Cannabis Marihuana, just fewer than 600 grams of Cannabis resin, a stun gun, and other items associated with the drug trafficking trade. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be around $10,500.
As a result of this investigation, Police have charged the following people:
50 year old David BYERS (also known as David KITT) of Kenora has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cannabis Marihuana s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cannabis Resin s. 5(2) Act (CDSA).
Possession of a Prohibited device or Ammunition section 92(2) Criminal Code (CC)
Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order s. 117.01(1) CC
He has been held in custody to appear in Kenora Court on December 7, 2016.
40 year old Crystal STEVENS of Kenora has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cannabis Marihuana s. 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cannabis Resin s. 5(2) Act (CDSA).
Possession of a Prohibited device or Ammunition section 92(2) Criminal Code
She is to appear in Kenora Court on January 5, 2017 to answer to the charges.
21 year old Jonathan KITT of Kenora has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams. S. 4(1) CDSA
Fail to Comply with Undertaking s.145(3) CC.
He is to appear in Kenora Court on December 22, 2016 to answer to the charges.
23 year old William KITT of Kenora has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams. S. 4(1) CDSA
He is to appear in Kenora Court on January 5, 2017 to answer to the charges.
20 year old Michael KITT of Kenora has been charged with:
