(CITY OF KINGSTON, ON) – On December 9th, 2016, at approximately 6:50pm officers from the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a motor vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 in the Kingston area for a Highway Traffic Act offence.
Officer’s activated the emergency lights however the vehicle continued eastbound on Highway 401 at a high rate of speed failing to stop.
With the assistance of officers from Leeds OPP the suspect vehicle was stopped on Highway 401 east of Gananoque without incident.
OPP has charged 21-year-old female Chenyang YU of Toronto, with stunt driving and Fail to Stop for police.
The accused driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle she was operating was impounded for seven days.
She is to appear in Provincial Court in Kingston at a later date to answer to the charges.
