YOUTHS CHARGED IN TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) In the early morning hours of July 20, 2014, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a Dodge pickup truck commit a traffic infraction on Craig Street in the Municipality of North Middlesex, ON.

Upon the initial attempt to stop the vehicle, the suspect vehicle fled from police. The vehicle was eventually stopped.

A 14 year old male driver was arrested and charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and take motor vehicle without consent, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was further charged with drive motor vehicle – no licence, and disobey stop sign – fail to stop, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act; and person under 19 years consuming liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.

He was released and will be appearing in the London courts on August 28, 2014 to answer to the charges.

The 15 year old male passenger was charged with presenting as evidence of age, documentation not lawfully issued to person, and person under 19 years consuming liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.

He will be appearing in the London courts on August 18, 2014 to answer to the charges.

The youths cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
