YOUTH HELD FOR BAIL AFTER UTTERING THREATS

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at approximately 2:23 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a 17 year old male after he threatened his mother and damaged her vehicle in the Township of Southgate.

On Monday, April 21, 2014 the victim had parked her vehicle at her residence in Dundalk when she was met by the accused who proceeded to kick the vehicle after she refused his demands for money. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, the accused threatened the victim, at which time she reported the incidents to police. While in the company of police, she continued to receive several abusive and threatening text messages from the accused.

The youth was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000; uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and utter threats to destroy property.

A bail hearing is scheduled for today.
