(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON)- On Monday August 26, 2013 at 9:49 p.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Middlesex Fire Department and Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single vehicle collision on Springbank Road, North Middlesex.
Police learned that a brown GMC pick-up truck was northbound on Springbank Road when the vehicle left the roadway near a bridge. The pick-up travelled traveled through a steel guard rail, down the embankment before coming to rest on the vehicles roof at the water’s edge. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threating injuries.
As a result of an investigation police have charges a 17 year old male from North Middlesex with Careless Driving as per Section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). Police have determined that speed was a factor in the collision.
Police want to remind the public that “common sense†can go a long way to saving a life on our roadways. The Middlesex OPP continues to see the unnecessary loss of life when it come to the “BIG FOUR†factors including aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired driving and occupants not properly secured by a seat belt. Together we can all play a part in saving lives.
