The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a male youth following a theft investigation in Chatham.
On November 10, 2014, police responded to a theft complaint on St. Clair Street. Upon the officer’s arrival, the homeowner reported that he had just witnessed a young boy steal property from his motor vehicle. The youth stole vehicle documentation and a pen.
Through investigation, the officer identified the youth and he was taken into custody yesterday morning.
The 12-year-old Chatham youth has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been released with conditions pending a future court date.
