The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a Chatham youth wanted on an outstanding warrant.
On September 30, 2013, the youth attended a grocery store and placed soup cans and chips in his gym bag. The youth exited the store making no attempts to pay for the merchandise. The youth was approached outside by an employee and held until police arrived on scene. The value of the theft was approximately $8.00. The youth was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession under $5000. He was released pending a future court.
On October 21, 2013, the youth failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday morning, the 17-year-old youth turned himself into police headquarters. The youth was arrested on the outstanding warrant and transported to court for bail hearing.
