(Town of Perth, ON) Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged the driver of a GMC pick-up truck after an incident in the Town of Perth at about 10.50pm on Saturday 14th January 2015.
Patrolling officers saw the truck embedded in a snow bank on Wilson St West after it had lost control and left the road while traveling south. The driver, a male youth from North Dundas Township, and three other occupants fled the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and charged with:
One (1) Count. Drive Motor Vehicle While Impaired.
One (1) Count. Operate Motor Vehicle, More Than 80mgs Of Alcohol / 100 Millilitres Of Blood.
One (1) Count. Assault Police Officer.
One (1) Count. Resist Arrest.
One (1) Count. Careless Storage Of A Firearm.
All offences contrary to the Criminal Code Of Canada.
The youth was also charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
One (1) Count. Young Driver Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero.
The youth was released to appear at a later date in the Youth Court in the Town of Smith Falls.
