(MIDDLESEX, ON.) – Members of Middlesex and Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a tire striking a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the 401 Highway, west of Putnam Road interchange.
Investigators discovered that at approximately 7:30 a.m. a tire had come off of a tractor trailer travelling eastbound on the 401 Highway. The tire bounced over the center median wall and collided with the westbound car.
The female driver of the motor vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene and has been identified as 50-year-old Kimberley COORDES of South-West Oxford Township.
Members of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI), Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit and Middlesex Fire Department were in attendance to assist with the investigation that had traffic snarled for approximately 4 hours. They have all been reopened.
