The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman for falsely reporting a criminal incident.
In July 2014, the woman’s common law partner entered into a Probation Order with several conditions. The man was not to communicate with her or attend her residence. In August 2014, the woman reported that the man broke into her residence and assaulted her. The man was arrested and charged accordingly.
In October 2014, the woman attended court to provide testimony against the man however she retracted her story.
Yesterday, the 29-year-old Chatham Township woman was charged public mischief and being a party to an offence. She was released with conditions pending a future court date.
The charges against the man are currently under review.
