Woman Charged With Multiple Thefts

(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH) – On November 18, 2015 at 2:48 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Nottawasaga Detachment and members of the Nottawasaga Detachment Street Crime Unit, arrested a female person in relation to thefts from Botanix Landscape Supply in Alliston. These thefts took place on November 11, 12, 15, 16 and 18, 2015.

The Nottawasaga Street Crime Unit organized observation of the business during the early morning hours of November 18, 2015. At approximately 2:30 a.m., an orange Dodge Calibre entered into the area through the route previously identified during the course of the investigation. A lone female occupant was observed exiting her vehicle to the exterior of the Botanix business, where she stole items and secured them in her vehicle. The female then departed from the area, driving eastbound on Highway 89 where she was stopped by officers.

Murielle LENGLIN, age 50 from Alliston was arrested and charged with 5 counts of Theft Under 5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under 5000. Police will be coordinating the return of all items stolen to the rightful owner. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on January 7, 2016.
