Woman Charged with Domestic Related Offences

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman in connection with a domestic disturbance in Chatham yesterday.

Around 2:00 p.m. a man and woman became involved in a verbal dispute. The man left their residence on foot and the woman followed in her vehicle. A short distance away, the woman exited her vehicle and struck the man in the head with a baseball bat. The woman then threw the bat at the man as she left in her vehicle. The 30-year-old Chatham man was not injured.

The woman was quickly located by police and arrested. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana. The 38-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and two counts of drug possession. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
