Woman Charged with Break and Enter

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following a break and enter in Wallaceburg yesterday.

On December 16, 2013 shortly after 1:00 p.m. police attended a residence on Collins Street in regards to a theft complaint. At this time, the homeowner reported that he had just confronted a woman rummaging through his vehicle in the driveway. The woman had in her possession a black duffle bag containing property from the man’s shed and vehicle along with mail from four different houses. The woman fled the area on foot prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, officers identified the woman and she was located at a residence on Margaret Avenue. The 39-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
