The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant.
On November 29, 2012, an officer conducting radar enforcement on Indian Creek Road East in Chatham observed a vehicle travelling westbound at a high rate of speed. The officer recorded the vehicle travelling 74 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the female driver. Through investigation, the officer learned that the woman was a suspended driver for unpaid fines. The woman was charged with driving while under suspension and issued a future court date.
The woman did not attend court as required and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Just before 5:00 a.m. this morning, officers located the woman on Talbot Street West in Blenheim and she was arrested. The 50-year-old Harwich Township woman has been held in custody.
