(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On February 20, 2016, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere R.I.D.E. check on Fairview Road, and Thorndale Road.
A yellow Hummer attended the checkpoint, and officers determined the female driver had been drinking alcohol. Officers made a breath sample demand on a roadside screening device, but the driver failed to provide a sample, and was arrested.
As a result of the police investigation, 44-year-old Janice HARTOON, from Strathroy Caradoc, Ontario, has been charged with fail or refuse to provide sample, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of an Appearance Notice, and is scheduled to answer the charge on March 29, 2016 in the London courts.
