(The Blue Mountains, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grey County Paramedics Services and the Grey County Fire Department were dispatched to a drowning incident yesterday in The Blue Mountains.
On June 26 2018 at 7:15pm first responders attended the Mountain Springs Resort and Conference Centre on Grey Road 19 in The Blue Mountains for reports of two persons who drowned in a pool at the resort. Shortly thereafter a 34 year-old female and 5 year-old female child, both from Markham, were transported to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased a short time later.
Investigation is continuing, a post mortem examination is scheduled today at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS) located in Toronto. Further information will be released when it becomes available.
