(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On March 9th, 2012 a winter storm passed through Southern Bruce County bringing high winds and blowing snow to the area. While this type of storm is common for Bruce County in winter months, some motorists were caught off guard. Between 3:00 pm on March 9th, 2012 and 10:00 pm on March 10th, 2012, 16 collisions were investigated with minor injuries reported at 4 of the scenes. “Technology such as electronic traction control and anti lock brakes will enhance your safety on winter roads, but the best defence is to slow down. The changing road and weather conditions are inevitable during winter months, but the increase in vehicle crashes is preventable. Slow down, stay alert and stay in control to arrive safely at your destination†– Inspector Bill Klym, Commander, South Bruce OPP.
