Wingham Police Face Disturbing Allegations Of No-Show and Slow-Show – Winghamites Start Standing Up To Police

A reader contacted us yesterday to complain about the Wingham Police

Service. The reader stated that on Wednesday there was a

collision in Wingham where a car was totaled. It is alleged

that the Wingham Police were called, and never showed up. The

OPP happened by an hour later, got tired of waiting for the Wingham

Police, and then wrote up the reports etc. Two hours after the

collision, the Wingham Police were still a no-show, and apparently

never did show up. Remember Wingham is one square mile, has 7

officers, cost 2X as much as the OPP, and their number one argument

for their continued existence is their excellent” response time

compared to the OPP.
