Wingham Police Chief Facing Theft And Dereliction Of Duty Allegations – Winghamites Forced To Pay For Policing In M-T and South Bruce

It was confirmed at last night’s North Huron Police Service Board meeting that Winghamites have been forced to pay for policing in Morris-Turnberry and South Bruce. Chief poole admitted he has no clue on how bad the problem is, as he doesn’t track those hours when they get bored of Wingham and just want to go for a drive in the country to do “patrols”.

We have all seen the Wingham cruisers patrolling outside of Wingham and pulling people over. One of their popular routes is the “Royal T loop” which is NOT in Wingham, however it goes past former police board chair Archie MacGowan’s nursing home twice during that patrol. I guess that free policing is a reward for supporting the Wingham police. WFP has also received countless reports of Wingham cruisers in Bluevale, Whitechurch, Lowertown etc.

When the Wingham police patrol off the square mile they are leaving Wingham unprotected. Abandoning your post is clearly dereliction of duty. Chief poole giving away free policing to neighbouring municipalities is theft, and when it is done to rack up overtime hours it is deplorable. This is theft from Wingham taxpayers, and questioning it will only get you yelled at by the Chief, so you should do it at the next police service board meeting where your interaction will broadcast via Youtube for your protection.
