Over the weekend, Wingham Police responded to two vehicles having been entered and items stolen. Police would like to remind residents to protect their valuables and secure their vehicles.
Police apprehended two 15 year old youths drinking alcohol on Frances St. Both youths were warned and taken home for parental discipline.
Wingham police provided assistance to the OPP twice over the weekend. The first, on Saturday, was a single vehicle rollover that occurred on Amberley Rd near Maple Rd where a man was trapped and received minor injuries. The second, on Sunday, was at Salem Rd where the OPP had received a traffic complaint but were not available to respond.
The Wingham Police work hand in hand with the OPP protecting Wingham and surrounding community. Several Wingham residents have expressed concern over the cost of having OPP assist the Wingham Police. There is no cost involved and we often reciprocate and do not bill the OPP when we respond to assist their officers.
