Wingham Police report a fairly uneventful New Year’s Eve. During the early evening police were called about an erratic driver on Josephine. The vehicle was located and stopped. Police charged the 18 year old Kincardine man with Careless Driving.
In the early morning hours of 1 January, police observed an intoxicated man walking along Josephine Street with open liquor. The 31 year old Wingham man was issued a ticket for having open liquor and permitted to go home with family members. The man was later located on Albert Street in a highly intoxicated state with his family members attempting to get him to go home. He was arrested and charged with being Intoxicated in Public and spent the night in police cells.
