Wingham Half Broken Or Half Fixed?

The near decade long war to fix and free the Occupied Square Mile could be near an end. Wingham’s future will be determined in the coming months and your participation in our Democracy and Community is essential to finish fixing and freeing Wingham. Only a few more things are required to bring our taxes in line with surrounding areas.

If you still think Wingham is unfixable you should consider the victories over the last few years. The Ombudsman is now NH’s closed meeting investigator and NH video records closed meetings to make available for the Ombudsman when there is a complaint. Council meetings are broadcast on YouTube, except when Vincent calls in the Wingham Police to remove those he dislikes. Massive strides have been made toward transparency thanks to the Public getting involved. Clearly there are a couple accountability issues that still need to be addressed.

What still needs to be done?

Wingham needs to get its policing costs under control. There is to be a meeting next month where the OPP will finally be allowed to offer pricing and respond to questions from the Public. We can’t afford to continue to pay double for policing just so 7 officers don’t have to change shoulder patches. If the 7 demand cash to switch shoulder patches in an extortive buy out” attempt they will be added to WFP’s Hall Of Shame for all time. They have taken enough from our Community already.

The failed Economic Development Department experiment must end. Action should be taken against those that allowed this to fester
