Wilson Alexander FELICIANO-MANICPE – 177 in a 100

(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday December 3, 2013 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401 east of County Road 25 in Cramahe Township when a motorist was found to be severely exceeding the 100 kilometre per hour speed limit.

The OPP officer observed the westbound black Toyota Yaris at a very high rate of speed and confirmed his observations with radar and found that the vehicle was travelling at 177 km/hour in the posted 100 km/hour zone.

The vehicle was eventually stopped near Vernonville Road in Alnwick-Haldimand Township. The officer conducted in investigation into the lone male driver and vehicle and charged the motorist under the Highway Traffic Act.

Wilson Alexander FELICIANO-MANICPE, 43 from Montreal, Quebec has been issued a Provincial Offence Summons for race a motor vehicle – excessive speed. The accused will appear in Provincial Offences court in Brighton, Ontario on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 9:00 am. The accused’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 7 days and the vehicle has also been impounded for 7 days.

The Highway Traffic Act Stunt Driving legislation has been in effect since 2007 and driving a motor vehicle at a rate of speed that is 50 kilometres per hour or more over the speed limit falls under this legislation. The Province of Quebec has a reciprocal agreement with Ontario in relation to driving offences and suspension that occur in Ontario.
