(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On May 16, 2016, Members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties in the City of Elliot Lake.
At 11:20 a.m., police observed a vehicle on Hillside Drive South with an expired validation tag. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation the vehicle was found not to be insured and was towed.
William WOOLLEY, 54 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with:
Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act; and
Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validated Permit, contrary to section 7(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 20, 2016.
