(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 21, 2016 at 6:21 a.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a business in Parry Sound after receiving a report that a male had gained entry into the business.
OPP investigation revealed the male attended the location and gained entry inside the building. He then left, but remained in the area and began yelling at staff that was at the business.
As a result of the investigation, William VANDERHEYDEN, 52 years of age from Barrie was arrested and charged with;
Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Mischief Under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC X 2
Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC X 3
Theft Under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC
The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
