(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A minor parking lot collision resulted in a 75 year old male being arrested for Impaired/Care and Control and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. On May 17, 2013 at 2:59 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer responded to a two vehicle collision that took place at the Zehr’s parking lot located on Huron Road. A witness reported the driver of a Ford pickup had struck another vehicle in the lot. The driver of the Ford left on foot and later returned to his vehicle. The responding officer spotted the driver of the Ford pickup truck now in the driver’s seat of his truck. Upon speaking to the driver of the Ford it was noticed he had been drinking alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. He was arrested for Impaired Care & Control and was transported for breath tests. Both tests were above the legal limit.
William RENFREW, 75, from Lambton Shores has been charged with Impaired Operation and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. A court date is scheduled for June 24, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
