William KOWBASNIUK – Drugs

(SUDBURY, ON)- On May 19, 2016, members of the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) established a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) initiative on Highway 17 at Highway 69, in the City of Greater Sudbury.

At approximately 4:30 pm, officers had occasion to check a westbound pickup truck occupied by a male driver who stopped at the R.I.D.E. program.

Officers detected the odor of marihuana emanating from interior of the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, police located and seized a quantity of drugs inside the pickup truck.

The driver, William KOWBASNIUK, 57 years of age from Dill Township, in the City of Greater Sudbury, was arrested and charged with the following: Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury, on July 6, 2016, to answer to his charges.
