(CENTRE WELLINTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 29, 2016 at approximately 12:17 a.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Side Road 15 in Centre WellingtonTownship. The officer observed a male driving a 2004 Chevrolet southbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 151 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
23-year-old William GUERRA DIAZ of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 7, 2016 to answer to the charge.
